Bankers get £4bn despite costs crisis
CITY bankers are to get a £4billion bonus bonanza.
The record spree follows a boom in banking profits during the pandemic.
But it comes as the costof-living crisis forces many families to choose between heating and eating.
TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady slammed the bonus binge as “an insult to working families across Britain”. She added: “We should be holding down bonuses, not ordinary people’s wages.”
Gary Smith, of the GMB union, described the bonuses as a “kick in the teeth” for everybody hit by the cost-of-living crisis.
