Claims Harry cut ties with charity donor
PRINCE Harry severed ties with the billionaire at the centre of the police inquiry engulfing Prince Charles fearing the relationship would raise questions about “cash-for- access”, it was claimed last night.
The Sunday Times reported leaked emails showed Harry, 37, distanced himself from Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz in 2014 after expressing “major concern” about the Saudi’s motives.
Mahfouz donated £1.5m to Prince Charles’ charities and got a CBE in 2016.
Charles, 73, says he has “no knowledge” of any trade-off between donations and honours and Harry’s concerns were not shared with him. Harry’s spokeswoman declined to comment. Mahfouz denies any wrongdoing.
