Telly’s Tinder Swindler: I’m no con artist

- BY KAREN ROCKETT

THE man dubbed the Tinder Swindler denies he’s a conman and says he just wanted to meet girls.

Shimon Hayut, 31, has given his first TV interview since being featured in a hit Netflix documentary.

The Israeli joined dating apps pretending to be the jet-setting son of a billionaire diamond tycoon.

The Netflix show says he may have tricked women out of millions of pounds before his arrest in Israel.

But in an interview screened in the US tomorrow, Hayut insists he is the “biggest gentleman”.

MONSTER

He says: “I am not a monster. I’m not a ‘Tinder Swindler’.

“People don’t know me so they cannot judge me.

“I was just a single guy that wanted to meet some girls on Tinder.”

His ‘model girlfriend’ appears by his side in the chat with Inside Edition.

Hayut, aka Simon Leviev, spent five months in jail for fraud before he was released in May 2020 and was ordered to pay compensation.

After getting out, he shared Instagram pics of himself enjoying the high life, until his account was axed following a backlash.
