Hail of bricks sparks 5-hour salon ordeal
SEVEN women were trapped in a hairdressers for five hours during a police standoff with a man throwing bricks off a roof.
Armed officers told staff and customers to lock the doors and stay inside while they dealt with the man, wanted in connection with assault allegations.
After hours reading magazines and being served tea and biscuits, they were allowed to leave Hobs Hair and Nail Bar in Weymouth, Dorset, at 3.45pm on Tuesday.
One had been so distressed she begged her husband to rescue her.
Salon owner Kelly Relph, 39, said: “The police said to stay in and lock the doors.
“We had no food, just tea and biscuits.” The man, wearing just shorts, was talked down at 9.30pm.
