Club statue plan for heli horror chief
FRESH plans for a statue in honour of a Premier League club chairman killed in a helicopter crash have been submitted.
Late Leicester City boss Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, 60, died with four other victims outside the club’s stadium in October 2018.
His son, club chairman Aiyawatt, wants “a permanent and fitting tribute”.
Under the new plans the statue and plinth will be taller, at 17ft, with planters and benches included.
Work is expected to begin “imminently” ahead of an unveiling in April.
Club CEO Susan Whelan said: “People’s kindness after Khun Vichai’s passing showed what an inspiration he was to so many.
“The statue will be a place to remember him and celebrate his life.”
