More must be done to keep us women safe

-

I cannot believe that cyber-flashing is still not yet illegal in England. I think the Online Safety Bill needs to urgently address this, as well as the effects of trolling.

It was heartbreaking to read that 80% of girls have been pressured into sharing intimate pictures online, but I am not surprised.

When I was last single, I got loads of unsolicited explicit pictures and it was horrible.

I have long campaigned for people to be kinder on social media and said that huge tech giants need to do more to regulate hate speech.

This is all too little, too late. The Government has been too busy enjoying wine and cheese nights over the last 18 months rather than addressing important issues.

And ultimately, it’s not women who need to be taking self-defence classes or wearing certain things – we need to be teaching young men to respect us.

Whenever I post things like that online, it’s always men who get triggered by it, stop following me and flood my comments with nasty messages, not realising they’re proving my point.
