Wordsworth poem home
A MANUSCRIPT of William Wordsworth’s most famous poem has returned home to the Lake District.
The handwritten copy of I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud has gone on display at his former home of Dove Cottage in Grasmere.
More commonly known as Daffodils, the poem was inspired by a sight he encountered while walking around Ullswater with his sister Dorothy. It was first published in 1807.
The manuscript is on a three-month loan from the British Library under its Treasures on Tour scheme.
