-

SNOOKER

BY WORLD champion Mark Selby says snooker’s ‘Class of 92’ are proving that age is just a number.

Ronnie O’Sullivan (six), John Higgins (four) and Mark Williams (three) have won 13 world titles since turning pro together 30 years ago, and – all aged 46 – are still in the game’s elite.

Speaking ahead of the European

Masters, which begins on Tuesday, fourtime Crucible king Selby (below), 38, said: “In years gone by you’d be coming towards the end of your career at about 35.

“But those guys have shown everyone that you can compete well into your 40s, and at an incredible standard.

“They are three of the greatest ever, and a real inspiration.”
