FIGHT fans could get a glimpse of the ‘new Muhammad ali’ going for gold at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

lewis Williams is Britain’s no.1 amateur heavyweight, a 23-year-old from leamington Spa, who stands 6ft 6in tall, has sparred anthony Joshua and models his style on ‘The Greatest’. Williams recalled: “dad bought me an ali dVd as a kid that I watched time and again. I loved his footwork.

“His wars with Joe Frazier don’t interest me as much as his 1966 fight with Cleveland Williams.

“It’s about hitting and not getting hit. Williams was a huge puncher – and ali played with him, made him miss, turned it on and put him away.”
