STRUGGLING La Liga champions ATLETICO MADRID warmed up for their Champions League last-16 clash with Manchester United by thrashing OSASUNA 3-0.

Atletico recovered from their shock midweek defeat by basement club Levante with a comprehensive victory.

Strikers Joao Felix, Luis Suarez and Angel Correa were on target to lift them into fourth spot.

“It was a great effort from everyone,” said boss Diego Simeone (below).

“The team showed huge commitment.”

Stadium. “We’ll rest now. We have four days to prepare for the United game and we’ll do it with a lot of responsibility,” Simeone added.

FC KOLN beat EINTRACHT FRANKFURT 1-0 at the RheinEnergieStadion thanks to a late goal from Frenchman Anthony Modeste, which took them into sixth place in the Bundesliga.

Having recently recovered from Covid, the prolific striker came off the bench on the hour and, with six minutes left, coolly slotted the ball under Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp to earn Koln the win with his 15th league goal of the season.
