Tranmere 1 Port Vale 1

-

ANDY CROSBY spoke of his pride as Port Vale ended a difficult week by snatching a dramatic draw.

The Vale players and staff paid tribute to manager Darrell Clarke before the match after he took a period of leave this week following a close family bereavement.

Then the Valiants earned a point through Jamie Proctor’s last-gasp equaliser to cancel out Josh Hawkes’ opener.

“Thoroughly deserved,” Vale assistant manager Crosby said.

“It’s been tough. I’m immensely proud of every single member of this football club this week.”

Tranmere manager Micky Mellon said: “It feels now as though it’s two points dropped. But listen, this is a tough league.”
