Going back to join battle

As tens of thousands more Ukrainians fled their country yesterday, some brave patriots were travelling in the other direction.

Among them were four builders led by married father-of-three Vlad Telehii.

They had been working in Poland and now plan to fight Putin’s army in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv. At the border, Vlad, 33, said: “I want to fight for my country. I’ll do it for my children.” Brother Ivan, 34, said: “We have to defend our country.”
