Stephen spoiling fun at Brooklyn’s wedding

-

While wedding jitters are usually reserved for the bride-to-be, nothing in the world of showbiz runs as you might expect.

As the April wedding spectacle of Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz edges ever closer, the American billionaire’s daughter seems to be taking things in her stride.

The same, however, can’t be said for one of their wedding guests. I’m told that Mel B – invited by Victoria Beckham, along with their other former bandmates Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel C – is getting the heebie-jeebies.

Not at the prospect of being asked to take to the karaoke machine for an impromptu rendition of Spice Up Your Life, but because she fears being ambushed by none other than ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.

Mel has confided to friends that she fears film producer Stephen wants to “leave her penniless” by tying her up in expensive legal cases.

The pair were together for a decade before splitting in 2017.

court process servers to serve civil legal papers on her demanding more money for child custody. A business associate of Mel says: “The wedding is meant to be a happy time and reunion of old friends. But Mel knows that there is a dark cloud hanging over the trip in the shape of Stephen.

“Many times in recent trips she has landed in the USA only to be tracked down by Stephen’s process servers handing her court papers.”

After their split, Mel – awarded an MBE for her work with vulnerable women and domestic violence charity Women’s Aid – alleged that he was physically and emotionally abusive during their relationship, which he has always vehemently denied.

The source continues: “He just cannot leave her alone. She has been the brave face supporting domestic violence victims, and he is livid about it.

“Flying to Miami could be very stressful. Mel wants to move on, but is upset with all these court dramas.”

In the words of The Spice Girls: Stop right now, Stephen.
