Minds boggling at Goggle chat
GOOGLEBOX’S new Scottish recruits sparked a spat on Twitter due to their strong accents.
While many Channel 4 viewers were overjoyed to see Glaswegian couple Roisin Kelly, 23, and Joe Kyle, 25, make their debut on Friday, others complained they could not understand the pair.
One tweeted: “Great to have Scots on Gogglebox, shame we can’t understand a word they say!”
Another said: “Subtitles required for the Scottish couple please!”
One Scottish viewer even admitted: “I am Scottish and I struggle to understand them.”
The comments rubbed others up the wrong way. One viewer blasted: “Glaswegian couple on Googlebox last night and it’s met with the expected sh**e from English people.”
The pair are the first Scots to feature on the reality telly series since the Manuel family in 2016.
