Alcoholism... a true story

I’ve been working on my upcoming Channel 4 documentary, My Dad, Alcohol and Me.

Alcohol and alcohol dependency have been a huge part of my life because of my dad’s illness. It’s shaped so much of who I am. It’s only now that I’m in a happy place with Ercan and have a good work-life balance that I’m able to recognise certain toxic habits and behaviours in myself.

There’s a really negative stigma attached to alcoholism. People always assume that the person is selfish. I really want to lift the lid on alcoholism and, in doing so, hopefully help others who are suffering.
