“Plan your exercise and write down how many repetition­s and sets you’re able to complete with each workout. You’ll be surprised at how quickly you improve,” says exercise instructor Julie Robinson (moveitorlo­seit.co.uk).

“Set a timer to remind yourself to get up and move during the day. It’s important to break up the day with exercise little and often.”

Aim for a mix of strength, stretching and balance exercises. “Adding music is a great way to boost energy levels and increase motivation, so why not try popping on your favourite tunes,” adds Julie.
