NEW boss Paul Simpson highlighted Carlisle’s character and desire after the win at Leyton Orient.

After Omari Patrick’s early goal sealed victory, Simpson said: “The character and the desire to defend was absolutely outstanding. We are now at the last 14 games and if we show the sort of desire we showed today, and determination, then hopefully it will be a really good finish.”

Interim Orient boss Matt Harold said: “I’m gutted for the players and fans.”
