JAMES ROWBERRY hailed his side’s performance as one of their best of the season. Dom Telford’s brace, including a penalty, and goals from Aaron Lewis and Finn Azaz earned Newport victory, after Tranmere levelled from 2-0 down through Josh DacresCogley and Mickey Demetriou’s own goal.

County boss Rowberry said: “Our performance was up there with the better ones of the season. We showed our character.”

Tranmere manager Micky Mellon said: “It was a really poor performance.”
