1million teens have not had Covid vaccine

MORE than a million children aged 12 to 15 are unvaccinated against Covid, government figures show.

Just 56% of young teens in England have had their first jab, falling to 44% in the poorest areas.

Less than 25% of youths have had a second shot.

SAGE scientists have called on the Government to reiterate that the vaccine is “very safe and effective” ahead of a primary school rollout.

Almost six million children aged five to 11 will be offered a jab from April.

But there are fears the removal of restrictions and parents’ concerns over side-effects will hit uptake.
