Gran dies as ‘copter lands at hospital
A GRANDMOTHER died when she was blown over by a helicopter landing at a hospital.
Jean Langan, 87, had just arrived for an appointment when the incident took place on Friday.
Niece Gael Hill, who accompanied Jean to the hospital, claimed she was “blown off her feet” and fell backwards on to a concrete floor.
It is thought the downdraft from the helicopter caused the pensioner to be blown over.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirmed the helicopter had been carrying a patient to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
Devon and Cornwall Police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch are investigating.
