Soap fan in bid to save Ramsay St

-

A NEIGHBOURS fan who owns two Ramsay Street homes is backing a bid to give it heritage status.

Andrew Whitney, who lives in England, was devastated by news that the TV soap will end after 37 years this summer.

Mr Whitney, who is from Melbourne but now lives in York, said: “It’s a 37-yearold film set, of course it should be protected.”

The 46-year-old entrepreneur’s properties have been home to popular characters including Jarrod ‘Toadie’ Rebecchi and Paul Robinson.

Mr Whitney said he had invested about £550,000 in No.3 and No.6 Pin Oak Court, in Melbourne.
