US and Iran in talks over nuclear deal

AMERICA and Iran could be about to resurrect their 2015 nuclear pact.

It saw Iran agree to limit its enrichment of uranium in exchange for tough sanctions being lifted.

But Donald Trump’s decision to quit the deal in 2018 sparked tensions across the Middle East.

Iran said yesterday it had agreed to resolve all UN questions about its nuclear programme by June.

But Russia wants written confirmation from the US that sanctions on Moscow will not hurt its military-technical cooperation with Iran.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said: “We need a guarantee.”
