Refugees’ pet haven
Acat called Crimsee is one of the lucky survivors of the Ukraine war after his owner tucked him in her coat and walked almost 40 miles to the Polish border. Workers from PETA Germany provided both with food, water and a bed and helped with the paperwork so that they could stay together as refugees in Poland.
PETA vice president Mimi Bekhechi says: “In the first few days of the war, EU regulations required companion animals to be microchipped HELPED With moggy and vaccinated, and many weren’t meeting the criteria. Mercifully, many EU countries have made entry for them easier.”
PETA UK is calling for similar treatment here.
