Devastating farewell to two legends

-

What a dreadful week for cricket. Two of its biggest names, Rod Marsh and

Shane Warne, died within hours of each other, both due to heart attacks.

Marsh, 74, and Warne (pictured), just 52, got to the top of their game and went on to inspire a whole generation of cricketers.

My husband and I are great fans of the sport, and although we often witnessed how they both tormented the England team, we know there won’t be a single English cricket fan who won’t have sorrow in their hearts at this awful news.

Neither Marsh nor Warne were perfect human beings, but many of us judged them only when they put on their whites and walked out with a bat or ball in their hands.

RIP, fellas – you were what sporting legends are made of.
