Judd plays his Trump card

FORMER World champion Judd Trump pulled off a great escape at the Welsh Open to keep alive his hopes of a first ranking title in a year.

The Ace in the Pack looked out at 5-3 down to Shoot Out champion Hossein Vafaei at the ICC in Newport. But he dug deep to clinch a 6-5 victory and is just one win away from returning the winners’ enclosure.

Trump (left), who last lifted a trophy at the 2021 Gibraltar Open, said: “I can’t wait to play in another big final.”
