Wigan manage to dig out win thanks to supporters
WIGAN WARRIORS coach Matt Peet paid tribute to the small band of Wigan fans who “got us over the line” in a dramatic last-gasp victory against Toulouse.
“When we had to dig deep, they were there for us today and it’s down to them that we got the two points,” Peet said.
“We are over here to play two French teams and we’re going to have be a whole lot better next week against Catalans. But all credit to Toulouse, they took us to the limits, but our supporters got us home.”
Wigan battled all the way in the first game of their mini Tour De France, coming behind from 18-10 to scrape to victory in Toulouse by a last-minute Harry Smith drop goal.
