ROY HODGSON admits that he’s ‘married’ to football – but he hopes it won’t last forever!

The former England coach, now 74, came out of retirement to take charge of Watford in January.

Evergreen Hodgson (above) said: “Will I be working for the rest of my life? I hope not.

“I hope I will not be a person who is clinging on for selfish reasons.

“However, if I’m honest

I do feel like my life has become more enjoyable and got better since I’ve been back.

“Do I appreciate football more? No.

“But then do you ‘appreciate’ your wife every day?

“Or do you just take it for granted that she’s there? I’m afraid you do.

“We’re human beings and we take what we’ve got for granted – and then one day it is taken away.”
