RALPH’S ON LIST TO FOLLOW RALF

- BY JOHN RICHARDSON

SOUTHAMPTON boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has been added to the Manchester United managerial shortlist after some impressive results for the Saints.

Paris Saint-Germain’s former Tottenham and Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax’s Erik ten Hag are still the front-runners for the job – but Hasenhuttl’s name is getting mentioned among the Old Trafford hierarchy.

Rangnick got a close-up view of the Austrian’s capabilities when the pair worked together at RB Leipzig.

Two league draws this season with Manchester City – plus two against United – have made the Old Trafford decision-makers, who include football director John Murtough and technical director Darren Fletcher, take fresh notice of Hasenhuttl (left).

Like Pochettino before him, Hasenhuttl has built himself a big reputation at Southampton – and that has attracted the attention of leading continental sides as well.
