STEVE COTTERILL could scarcely believe his Shrewsbury side did not leave Cambridge with three points. The visitors dominated, but were unable to find a way past goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov.

Manager Cotterill said: “I don’t think we can get any closer without actually winning it.

“Apart from putting the ball in the back of the net I don’t think there’s anything else we could have done.”

Cambridge boss Mark Bonner said: “We’re delighted with a point.”
