Maxwell uses juror to seek retrial in US
SEX trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell has applied for a retrial – by claiming her rights were breached when a juror failed to reveal he was abused as a child.
Maxwell, 60, lodged papers in New York that claim juror Scotty David “repeatedly and unequivocally denied having been the victim of sexual abuse”.
Mr David, 50, failed to list his abuse in a jury questionnaire – which he later described as an “honest mistake”.
Maxwell, 60, was found guilty of recruiting and grooming girls for financier Jeffrey Epstein. She faces sentencing in June.
Last month Prince Andrew settled a civil sex case with Virginia Giuffre, which related to Epstein.
Andrew strongly denies any wrongdoing.
