28C? Get set for very hot cross buns...
BOOKIES have slashed the odds on Easter being the UK’s hottest ever as forecasters predict April temperatures could be among the highest in 170 years.
Citing climate change as a factor, the Met Office says April is set to be much warmer than average.
And they predict temperatures could be as high as 28C by Easter Sunday, which falls on the 17th.
The hottest Easter on record was 29.4C in 1949.
Coral cut the odds on this year beating that to just 5-4, down from 2-1 – slashing odds as well on summer being a scorcher.
But the Met has issued yellow warnings for wind this weekend with fierce gusts and rain expected to batter the country today with unsettled weather over the next week.
