Gaga bid for top dog
The last person you’d expect Lady Gaga to be thanking if she wins the Leading Actress gong tonight is the thief who stole her dogs.
But the criminal – who last year horrifically shot the superstar’s dog walker Ryan Fischer, right, before kidnapping her two French bulldogs – may be indirectly responsible for the Pokerface singer’s BAFTA nomination.
Explaining how the incident – after which the dogs were thankfully safely returned – aided her performance, Gaga, 35, whose role as Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci clinched her the nod, says: “The trauma – it had me spiralling psychologically in a way where I wanted to escape into this character.”
Pop star Gaga is also presenting the Rising Star segment at this year’s awards.
