Turning age on its head

-

When I was at primary school, I was obsessed with gymnastics – forward rolls, handstands and cartwheels.

When trying to teach my daughter to cartwheel, I remember thinking I wouldn’t be able to do it any longer. But to my amazement, my body did just what it was supposed to do.

I admit I was petrified at the thought of having a go but, once I’d done it,

I was chuffed to bits – and my kids thought it was totally cool.

The other day I did a headstand. I surprised myself that my body, aged 52, can still do remarkable things. You too would be amazed at what your body can do in terms of muscle memory if you just have a go.

Never underestimate the skills you learned as child. Dig deep and you will find your daring young self once again.
