It’s Hatts off to Andre

ANDRE GRAY is set for a “good welcome” at Kenilworth Road today – but only because he isn’t playing for Watford.

The former Luton favourite, 30, is set to lead the line for QPR in today’s clash between the two play-off chasers.

Gray (right), currently on loan from Luton’s bitter rivals Watford, was a Hatters hero after kickstarting their rise through the divisions, which started as they won promotion out of the Conference Premier back in the 2013-14 season.

This is his first return to Kenilworth Road with supporters present.

And Luton No.2 Mick Harford, who has also been assistant at Rangers, said: “I’m sure he’ll get a good welcome.

“If he was playing for Watford he wouldn’t, but playing for QPR it’s a bit different.

He played a big part in helping Luton get back in the Football League, so our thanks to him.

“I’m sure the crowd will get behind him for a short period of time, so it’ll be good to see him.”

Harford is relishing getting back home in front of the Town crowd and a stadium where they are unbeaten in their last seven league games, with five wins and two draws. He added: “The fans get behind the team and they are like our

12th man.

“It’s a really tough place to come for opposition teams.

“We make it really, really tough and obviously the big thing for us is the fans who get behind us.”

The two clubs have urged supporters to print out a specially-designed flag to show support for war-torn Ukraine at the match, and urged people to donate to the British Red Cross Humanitarian Appeal.
