PAUL SIMPSON hailed Carlisle’s players and fans after Jordan Gibson’s late penalty winner.

Tobi Sho-Silva’s opener was cancelled out by Paul Lewis before Gibson (left) sealed the victory.

Simpson said: “The supporters have been brilliant and the players have stepped up.

“It’s a two-fold thing. People expect the fans to come and lift the players, but players have to lift the fans as well. The way we went about it lifted them.”

Cobblers boss Jon Brady said: “We fought our way back into the game. So to lose it like that is tough.”
