ANDY CROSBY was full of praise for Ben Garrity after the midfielder’s brace.

Nathan Smith’s own goal had gifted Crawley the lead, but Garrity’s double and goals from David Worrall and Connor Hall secured Vale the win.

Garrity came up through non-League football, and Crosby said: “He’s had to fight and scrap for everything he’s got. He should be an inspiration.”

Crawley boss John Yems said:

“I feel sorry for the lads but, most importantly I feel sorry for the fans.”
