Sloppy Bayern hassled by Hoff

- European Round-Up

BUNDESLIGA leaders BAYERN MUNICH blew a bagful of chances as they drew 1-1 at HOFFENHEIM – dropping points for the second game in a row.

The Bavarians, chasing a record-extending 10th consecutive league crown, had drawn with Bayer Leverkusen last week and have won two of their last five league matches.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND, second with two games in hand, will aim to cut a 10-point deficit when they take on ARMINIA BIELEFELD today.

“It is a bit disappointing not to go home with the three points,” said Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer

(right). “Luck was not always on our side.” Robert Lewandowski headed in a Joshua Kimmich corner for his 29th goal of the campaign to cancel out Christoph Baumgartner’s opener.

But the visitors missed chances galore while Thomas Muller twice put the ball in the net only to be ruled offside.

Alvaro Morata scored twice to help JUVENTUS remain on the coat-tails of the Serie A title contenders with a 3-1 win at SAMPDORIA. The former Chelsea striker’s double also boosted Juve’s Champions League push.

In La Liga, LEVANTE held ESPANYOL to a 1-1 draw while ELCHE beat GRANADA 1-0.
