Fifth vaccine this week for those at risk

-

NEARLY 400,000 people are to be offered their fifth Covid vaccine as the NHS launches its spring booster programme this week.

They include over-12s with weak immune systems, who should already have had four jabs.

Over-75s and care home residents are also urged to get the second booster.

The NHS says five million people can get boosters this spring, with the first 600,000 able to book jabs this week.

Once they are done, the immunity top-up will be available to everyone.

CHINA has announced its first two Covid deaths in more than a year, amid a surge of Omicron cases.
