UK cashes in on Caribbean after hol ban
HOLIDAYMAKERS are flocking back to the Caribbean, foreign currency sales figures have revealed.
They are cashing in after the scrapping of Covid travel restrictions, with demand for some Caribbean currencies surging past pre-pandemic levels.
Sales for the Barbados dollar are up 55% on 2020.
Demand for the East Caribbean dollar is up 52% and sales of the Jamaican dollar are up by 44%.
Mexican peso sales have also jumped by 35%.
Nick Boden, of Post Office Travel Money, said there has been “an extraordinary rise in sales in recent weeks and there’s no sign of a slowdown”.
