Chris Martin pens song for Warne event
COLDPLAY frontman Chris Martin is recording a musical tribute to his close friend Shane Warne.
The recording will be played at the cricket legend’s public memorial service in Australia.
More than 100,000 people are expected at the Melbourne Cricket Ground event on March 30.
The group will be on tour in Mexico but Chris wanted to honour his pal.
Warne was a Coldplay fan and joined them on stage several times playing maracas and harmonica.
Sir Elton John and Ed Sheeran will also send messages of condolence.
The retired spin bowler, 52, died on March 4 on the Thai island of Koh Samui after a heart attack.
His private funeral was due to be held today.
