Burglar cops it from gran

A BURGLAR has been jailed after he was shopped by his own granny.

Matthew Herron, 22, was living with her when she found evidence of his ill-gotten gains in her bin.

She told police who discovered he carried out a break-in and attempted thefts in Gateshead.

Herron was jailed for 22 months at Newcastle Crown Court after admitting burglary and theft charges and breaching an earlier suspended sentence for carrying a knife.
