MSC has unveiled the first CGI look at its new $350million mega-terminal in Miami, Florida, due to open by the end of next year.
The sweeping four-storey building will have four embarkation areas capable of handling 36,000 passengers a day in total, and berthing space for three ships at the same time.
Most ships using the new facility will be able to plug in to the local electricity grid, in line with PortMiami’s plans to enable greener shore power connectivity, rather than using their engines. MSC UK chief Antonio
Paradiso said: “The new Miami terminal represents our commitment to enhance Caribbean Sea sailings for guests from the UK and Ireland.” msccruises.co.uk ■■Cruising is booming according to Virgin Voyages, with bookings for Richard Branson’s line soaring by 178% in the last six months.
