Brilliant Bayern back in business

-

BAYERN MUNICH returned to winning ways in the Bundesliga as Robert Lewandowski’s double in the 4-0 win over UNION BERLIN kept them in the driving seat for the title.

The Bavarians had drawn their last two league games but moved back seven points ahead of secondplaced Borussia Dortmund, who face Cologne today.

Chasing a recordextending 10th league crown in a row, Bayern didn’t look back after Kingsley Coman’s early opener. Tanguy Nianzou powered in a header and Lewandowski (right) converted a penalty before the break.

The Pole added his second two minutes after the restart to take his league tally to 31 goals this season.

The title race is set to go down to the wire in Serie A. NAPOLI beat UDINESE 2-1, while INTER MILAN were held 1-1 at home by FIORENTINA.

Inter were top in Italy last month but have won only one of their last seven games and now sit third. Denzel Dumfries cancelled out Lucas Torreira’s opener for Fiorentina, but it was a frustrating afternoon for Inter at the San Siro.

Napoli came from behind to earn their crucial home win. Gerard Deulofeu opened the scoring for Udinese before Victor Osimhen’s double saw Napoli home.

Udinese finished with 10 men after Pablo Mari was sent off.
