School hours target in ’23

SCHOOLS are to be asked to teach for at least a 32 and a half hours per week.

Plans due out this week set the target to begin in September of next year.

The National Education Union said most schools hit the target anyway.

The Dept for Education said: “The Schools White Paper will deliver fairness for every child.”
