MICK SCHUMACHER miraculously escaped serious injury after a horrifying high-speed crash during qualifying at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The German’s car was split in two after spinning off the kerb and crashing into a concrete barrier wall at around 170mph.

The second qualifying session was paused as Schumacher remained in the car’s cockpit before being airlifted to hospital.

His Haas team last night said their driver was “physically fine” and was being assessed.
