‘Conte is Spurring things up’
ANTONIO CONTE has shown he knows how to strengthen Tottenham, says Jonathan Woodgate.
The north Londoners’ form has been erratic, but Conte is stamping his authority on the club.
Woodgate is impressed by the impact of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.
“I watched Bentancur when he was at Boca Juniors and quite a few times at Juventus,” said Woodgate.
“I think he gives them something else in the centre of the pitch.
“Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp are a bit too similar.
“Bentancur looks stronger in that position.
“I didn’t know a lot about Kulusevski when he first came.
“But he’s got a floating role on the right-hand side and has done well.
“Spurs have to sign these types of players to really progress.
“Conte’s only got an 18-month contract, but I’m sure that’ll get renewed because Spurs aren’t going to get a better manager.”
