In-form Roby open to World Cup bow
JAMES ROBY has dropped a hint that he might come out of international retirement for this year’s World Cup.
Last year the St Helens star (above) said the postponement of the 2021 World Cup to this autumn was a year too far for him.
Roby, who turns 37 a week before the competition final, is expected to retire after this season. He hopes to have a record fourth successive Super League title – and also now possibly another World Cup. He said: “I don’t know. There’s a long time before the World Cup. That’s a conversation for another day.”
He added: “I don’t overcomplicate things. I just turn up, do my job and work hard. As captain I try to lead by example.”
