Mickelson ‘big miss’
PHIL MICKELSON will be a “big miss” at The Masters following the fallout from his support of the Saudibacked Super Golf League.
The three-time winner, 51, issued an apology in February after the publication of his “reckless” comments about the breakaway league that he claimed were off-the-record.
Mickelson was branded “naive, selfish, egotistical, ignorant” by Rory McIlroy and the US PGA champion – the oldest Major winner in history – has taken time away from golf.
Former coach Butch Harmon said: “He’s won this three times and loves The Masters. Tiger Woods and Phil are the two most popular players of modern times. He’s a big miss for any tournament.”
