Giant help thrills Mik
ARSENAL boss Mikel Arteta welcomes UEFA’s proposal to create two extra Champions League places based on historical performance.
The move, which is expected to be ratified in May, will provide another route into Europe’s elite competition for the game’s fallen giants every season.
Arteta said: “You want to win. You want to be the best.
“But the fact UEFA are thinking about other possibilities is because the game and the quality has evolved so much.
“Trying to accommodate top, top teams in Europe is very challenging.
“So I think it’s something positive to look at those possibilities.”
