Ten Hag’s available on cheap

-

months of Ten Hag’s contract once they lodged an official approach.

But Sunday Mirror Sport can reveal that the 52-year-old inserted a get-out clause in the deal he signed a year ago – and that it can be triggered for just €2m (£1.68m).

And Ten Hag has sounded out Van Persie about returning to Manchester United as part of his backroom staff.

He is already putting plans in place should United appoint him in the summer, and he wants Van Persie with him.

Ten Hag has started informal talks with the former Dutch striker, who scored 26 goals and won the Golden Boot when United last won the title under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.

RVP is currently taking his coaching badges and working with the Under-16s team in Feyenoord’s academy – and Ten Hag believes the Dutchman’s knowledge of United would be invaluable.

Van Persie is tempted by the prospect of working in the Premier League again, but his son, Shaqueel, has just signed his first contract with Feyenoord and is working alongside his father in the club’s youth set-up.

Van Persie’s daughter Dina is also one of

Holland’s biggest showjumping talents – and that’s another factor that he will take into account.

United have now spoken to Ten Hag, who remains favourite, Paris SaintGermain manager Mauricio Pochettino and Spain boss Luis Enrique, but are yet to table contractual terms to any of the candidates.

Two other clubs also have Ten Hag on their radar – one a powerful Bundesliga outfit – and both have already made him serious offers.

And Ten Hag has already earmarked two players – Brazilian winger Antony, 22, and Dutch international centre-back Jurrien Timber, 20 – that he would like to bring with him from Amsterdam.
